How to Find Hot Niches for Online Marketing

There are so many niches that you can choose on when you're starting a new Internet business. Some niches are likely to be very profitable; other niches will probably not make you very much money.

So how do you choose one that is going to be profitable and does not have much competition? Here's a simple method to profitable niche marketing.

The skill of selecting the right niche which will be profitable is one of the most important, if not the most important skill of Internet marketing. Choosing the wrong niche and your chances of success have just gone down by a large factor.

So what should you look for in a niche?


First, you should research what people are looking for on the Internet - find out what keywords are they searching for. You need to know what people are interested in. What are people interested in? Well there's several methods of identifying interesting profitable niches. If there are magazines in a niche that is probably a good indicator of a niche being profitable. Another more common method is to use Google's Adwords Keyword Tool.

This online tool will estimate how many keyword searches there would be on Google each day. Generally you want to see more than 500 predicted searches per day on Google, but it really all depends on the particular niche and how profitable your think it will be.

All of these keywords are potential subjects for an information product. Typing phrases into keyword tools such as “buy online”,“tips”, “guide”, “advice” etc are good phrases to use as the searcher is in a buying or information seeking mindset.

One very effective method is to find profitable niches is to look at the side of the the Google searches and see how ads there are. The more ads on the side of the search results is an indicator of how profitable a niche is. This shows that a niche is already profitable. Though, these niches will likely have a higher rate of competing pages due to the profitability of the niche. Often the most profitable areas also have the most competition.

Finally, one of the best ways to find a profitable niche is to use Google Adword Keyword Tool and look for niches with low competition but lots of monthly searches.

With adwords you should be able to find a profitable niche which interests you. You may have to dig a little deeper into the keywords that turn up to find one with low competition. Inserting quotes around the keyowrds will give you exact matches which can be your target keywords.
